5 Things Moms Can Do To Get Ahead This Week

Simple systems that make tomorrow, next week and everyday life a little easier.

  1. Look at the week BEFORE it starts

This sounds like a no brainer. Ask yourself “what can I do today that will make my week easier?”

    Maybe it’s:

    • meal planning

    • ordering diapers

    • scheduling an appointment

    • making a grocery list

    • cleaning out backpacks

You don’t have to get ahead on everything.

Just get ahead on ONE thing. It will help you tremendously.

  2. Decide what’s for dinner BEFORE you’re hungry!

The “What’s for dinner?” question creates way more mental load than it should.

Pick your meals for the next 3-5 days ahead of time.

Better yet: have a list of 10-15 family meals you can rotate through when you don’t want to think.

  3. Keep a running grocery list

Don’t wait until you’re sitting down to make a grocery list.

When something runs out, add it immediately. I keep both a written list in the kitchen and on my phone so that when it comes time, I combine the lists.

Then your weekly grocery list becomes a quick cleanup rather than a memory test.

  4. Create a launch pad by the door

Give everything that needs to leave the house a home:

    • backpacks

    • shoes

    • coats

    • sports bags

    • library books

    • water bottles

    The goal isn’t a pinterest-perfect entryway.

    It’s:

“Where is everyone’s stuff when we’re walking out the door?”

Having everything ready at the door the night before sets everyone up for success the next morning.

  5. Stop keeping everything in your head!

These days, you can literally tell ChatGPT:

“Here’s everything happening this week (insert info). Organize it into what needs to happen today, this week, later and what I can delegate.”

The goal is to get the information out of your head and into a plan of action.

You don’t need to become a perfectly organized mom. You just need a few systems that keep you from solving the SAME problems over and over again.

Being proactive now doesn’t mean doing more… it means doing a little thinking now so you don’t have to do a lot of scrambling later.

And when you don’t know where to start, that’s where tools like AI can help.

Less scrambling. Less remembering. Less mental load!

That’s the goal.

Because moms shouldn’t have to do everything the hard way.
